    Asuu to suspend strike or continue as they hold meeting



    looking forward for the NEC meeting, different zones of ASUU had met to consider the offer and in addition contributions from the different branches for introduction to the NEC. 


    ASUU had set out on an uncertain strike on August 14, blaming government for inability to reclaim the terms of assention marked in 2009 and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) embraced by the two gatherings in 2012. 

    One of the zonal organizers of ASUU disclosed to Saturday Sun: "I should express that the offer from the Federal Government is a long ways from our individuals' desires. Give us a chance to perceive what leaves this crisis NEC meeting. A significant number of our individuals are not content with the way government is dealing with our requests. It is dependent upon NEC to take a position on the on-going strike. Our individuals are set up for a long strike, yet it relies upon the legislature."

    He exposed a claim by the Education Minister that ASUU would cancel the strike this week, saying, "we didn't guarantee the Minister anything. We told the administration group that we will counsel with our individuals on what government has advertised". 

    He depicted the feasible result of NEC meeting, as 50-50, saying individuals needed to see solid confirmation that administration was not kidding about taking care of the requests. The priest, Mallam Adamu, had, conceded that "legislature has not satisfied its piece of the deal, despite the fact that we are troubled that ASUU went on this strike without following due process and giving us great notice. We understood that we guaranteed something and we didn't satisfy it.
